MAR: CHT0125. In COR0797, Jeannette Merritt reported that she could not locate this marriage.
DTH: CHT0125. On COR0250, Enclosure 4, chart H, Jeannette Merritt annotated in pencil that the link from Diggory Rowe buried at Redruth back to Degory Roo who died at Werrington, and then back to John and Eulalia Roo, is from Lesley Morton who indicated that in his Will the Degory Roo who died in 1668 at Werrington left property at Camborne. In COR0797, Jeannette Merritt clarified that Degory Roo did NOT leave a Will, but there is an inventory: "Inventory of all the goods and chattles of Degory Roo of Werrington lately deceased taken by Anthony Chapman, William Osborne and William Rowe ye 13th day of February . . . of his Majesty's reign . . . 1667" (this is 1667/68) gives as the third item "his chattles in ye parish of Werrington, St. Stephens by Launceston and in Cambrone [Camborne] to ye value of £15.0.0." The total value of his estate was £25.19.0. Anthony Chapman and William Rowe signed the inventory and William Osborne made his mark. On the spine of the document it states " Werrington 10th April 1668. Bond and Inventory of goods of recently deceased Degory Roo, permission is granted to Elizabeth Roo his relict." The transcript of handwritten notes taken by Walter Meyer zu Erpen during Aug/Sept 1978 and dated 15 Mar 1986 shows under the following heading "Camborne. Overseers of the Poor Rates including some accounts 1648-1717 CRO Ref: DD.P.D 490 1,2 & 3." that Degory Rowe paid rates on Tookingmill from 1650 to 1666 and Tolgarwarke from 1663 to 1666. Tuckingmill and Tolgarrick are next to one another on the outskirts of Camborne when going to Redruth and there is another Tolgarrick at Godrevy. After 1666 there were no Rowe entries for these two properties.
NOT: In COR0796, Jeannette Merritt wrote: "Going back to the Overseers Accounts for Camborne, ... Degory Rowe paid rates on Tookingmill/Fafinge mill from 1650 to 1666, and on Tolgawarke/Tolgarrack from 1663 to 1666 - he died in 1668. Tuckingmill is on the outskirts of Camborne, just past Roskear. There are two Tolgarracks - one at Tuckingmill and one near Godrevy."
