MAR: COR0830. In COR0855, Jeannette Merritt wrote: "I rather suspect that the Rector [John Rowe] had more children born before he came to Cornwall - his marriage to Kathryn could even have been a second marriage as he was considerably older that she was. But I could not delve into that as it is not our family and it would take up too much time. Also the 17th century records are rather fragmented so I could only record what was available. Another point is that I only recorded the christenings which stated that they were the children of John Rowe, Rector. There were two other christenings recorded as the children of John. Other people might include them with the Rector's children, but I have not, as I have no proof. There were other Rowes recorded in Camborne in the 16th century and they could have descended from any of them. So other researchers may add to what we have done on this family - for instance someone may have knowledge of John Rowe the Rector's will, which was destroyed during WWll. If this was available it could mention all of his children - or it could add nothing to the research. But one has to keep an open mind."
